Project 1591® Case Study
The story of how one volunteer from the other side of the world can make a difference in the life of a child sex trafficking victim in the United States.
DAY ONE
A prospective volunteer signs up to help Guardian Group using Project 1591. They are prompted to complete the volunteer training course, made up of 10 hours of learning content and 3 practical exams. This volunteer completes the training process in record time and with exceptional detail.
DAY THREE
Project 1591 allows volunteers to search anywhere they like in the United States. This particular volunteer is of foreign origin so they reached out asking for an area to focus.
DAY FIVE
In the middle of the night our time this volunteer submitted a lead for a 16-year-old victim. Meaning, while our team was out of the office, the volunteer was able to determine the true identity and age of this child and submit through Project 1591, the necessary information law enforcement would need.
DAY SIX
In the morning our team corroborated the lead through our standard process and passed it to our law enforcement partners in the area.
ACTION
Law enforcement rarely can give us details of a case beyond acknowledging they received the lead, however, in this case they did confirm that a detective has been assigned for action.
Project 1591 is the first-ever 24/7 crowdsourcing process and platform that enables volunteers to become force multipliers to Guardian Group’s mission of illuminating child victims of sex trafficking in the United States.
