Volunteers Helping End Sex Trafficking

In a world often overshadowed by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there exist individuals whose selflessness and dedication shine brightly amidst the chaos. These individuals are none other than the Project 1591® volunteers. As we navigate through the challenges of our times, it’s crucial to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude to these remarkable individuals whose efforts often go unnoticed but are profoundly impactful.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Project 1591 process and platform. They lend their expertise, time, and skills without expecting anything in return, driven solely by a desire to make a positive impact.

This is not simple work. Many volunteers have sent feedback stating that this is much harder than they originally imagined. But as Theodore Roosevelt said, “nothing worth doing is easy.” We know this is challenging research work, that on occasion after hours of time, may end in dead ends and discouragement. Our team has been doing it for years now, and we recognize the power in the collective effort verses individual pin pricks at the problem.

Sex trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, and we knew that in order to match its growth rate we would need to harness the power of many. The talented and dedicated individuals that make up our volunteer community are helping do just that.

Project 1591 was launched in July of 2022 and since then, the volunteer force and the Guardian Group internal Analysis Team have collectively identified over 450 victims of potential trafficking to our law enforcement partners for action.

The impact of volunteers extends far beyond the measurable outcomes of their efforts. While we have a clear understanding of how many victims this community has identified we know their impact goes beyond this. Once law enforcement takes action it is not uncommon for more victims to be discovered throughout their process, a measurement we will never be able to fully understand. Simultaneously, our law enforcement partners have shared that what is created through Project 1591 is helping educate them on new Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) methods. Improving a skill set for law enforcement that they can apply to many aspects of their difficult job, outside just trafficking cases.

To all the Project 1591 volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to making the world a better place – we thank you. Your generosity, compassion, and selflessness do not go unnoticed. You are the unsung heroes who embody the best of humanity, and for that, we are forever grateful.

If you are interested in joining this community of individuals head on over to the Project 1591 website and sign up. Once you sign up, you’ll be promoted to complete a training course and vetting process before being given access to the Project 1591 platform. We encourage you to stick through the process, there are countless women and children that are just waiting for someone to identify them and get them law enforcement help.

Together we are harnessing the power of many to find the vulnerable. Join us.
